How do I assemble video clips?
Assemble video clips
Connect, order, validate, and combine video clips into one assembled output with clip audio.
An Assembly node joins video clips into one ordered video. It is a sequencing action for video—not a still-image collage or image compositor.
Prepare the clips
Use at least two video nodes. Each connected clip must resolve to a usable video asset before the final assembly can complete. Generate or upload the clips, then connect them to the Assembly node's video input.
Try to prepare clips with compatible creative intent. Large differences in aspect ratio, visual treatment, loudness, or pacing remain visible in the assembled result even when the files can technically be joined.
Set the order
The clip list shows the current sequence and whether each item is ready or pending. Drag clips into the story order you want. The workspace saves that order with the node so a later reassembly uses the reviewed sequence.
Run the workflow
Select Run assembly. If an upstream clip is still pending, the workflow can wait for required dependencies before joining the sequence. Do not mistake that waiting state for a finished output.
Clip audio is included in the assembled result. Review cuts for sudden volume changes, clipped dialogue, unwanted silence, and audio that conflicts across the transition.
Reassemble after a change
If you replace a source clip or reorder the list, run the assembly again. The assembled video is a derived output; changing a source does not make an older rendered result correct automatically.
For shot creation, see Generate video. For a speaking subject, see Create a lip-sync video.
