Skills explained
Understand how reusable agent guidance differs from workflow templates, brand context, and one-time prompts.
Last reviewed September 17, 2026
A skill is a reusable set of focused instructions that guides how an agent handles a kind of work. Skills capture process and judgment—for example, how to structure a content plan or approach a creative task—so you do not need to restate the method in every conversation.

When a skill is used
Enabled skills are available to the agent. A relevant skill can be selected when a request matches its purpose, and you can name a skill directly when you want that specific playbook. Several compatible skills can contribute to the same conversation.
A skill guides the work; it is not a separate person or background agent. It does not replace your request, brand context, or review.
Skill versus workflow template
- A skill describes how to think or act: instructions, process, examples, and reference material.
- A workflow template describes what appears on Canvas: reusable nodes, inputs, outputs, settings, and connections.
Use a skill when the valuable part is a method. Use a template when the valuable part is a visible production structure. A campaign can use both.
Skill versus Brand Profile
Brand context describes the specific brand: identity, audience, voice, products, and constraints. A skill describes a reusable approach that can work across brands. Do not duplicate changing brand facts inside a general skill.
Review remains essential
Skills can improve consistency, but they do not guarantee a correct result. Review the active brand, current campaign goal, source material, and any expensive or external action before approving it.
